Inlet currents, tidal exchange, and boat wake can hit river and Intracoastal edges hard. Rip-rap revetments and rock armor stabilize banks where a vertical wall is not preferred or permitted. We place rock to engineered or agency-approved grades with appropriate turbidity controls, and can coordinate shoreline armor with docks and other marine structures.

Rip-rap typically requires marine structure review by the town or county. Depending on location and impact, Florida DEP, SFWMD, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, and the county may also review. Is rip-rap better than a vertical seawall? It depends on wave energy, setbacks, upland use, and approvals. Rip-rap works well where a vertical wall is not preferred or permitted.
